About KLPA

A grassroots movement for Malaysian padel

The KLPA Grassroots Programme, supported and sponsored by the Malaysia Padel Association (MPA), began in September 2025 in collaboration with Padel Depot.

The programme

The goal is to introduce padel to children at a young age and make the sport accessible through schools and communities. The programme is built around more than learning to play — it covers skills, discipline, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship and a genuine love for the sport.

HEAD has supported the programme since day one as official equipment sponsor, giving young players access to quality equipment as the programme grows.

The first school padel court in Malaysia

On 12 May 2026, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kiaramas in Kuala Lumpur officially launched its padel court — the first primary school in Malaysia with its own on-site padel court. The court launch was officiated by MPA President Tengku Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Ahmad Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah, with construction sponsored by the MPA President and Directors Think Tank Sdn Bhd.

Grassroots programme in action

Training runs as recurring weekly sessions led by KLPA coaches. Groups are kept small so every child gets court time, and each session works through the fundamentals: movement, control, the wall, serving and match play.

Sessions are open to children of all levels. Parents manage sign-ups, attendance and payments in the parent portal.

Our bigger goal — the pathway

The SK Kiaramas court is the starting point, not the end goal. KLPA's plan is to use it as a blueprint for more schools across Kuala Lumpur and eventually across Malaysia, building a sustainable pathway.
